Dog Organization Products That Actually Help

Half my home belongs to dog products. Boarding comes with extras I never thought about prior to starting. There’s the piles of towels, bowls, blankets, toys in every nook and cranny; it gets overwhelming fast! Since I board the dogs in my home, my space is their space and we must co-exist. Storage is key!

For toys I’ve learned the plastic recycling bins meant to sort your recycling actually make great storage for toys both inside and out! You can easily hose them down and you can stack up to three high depending on the height of your dog and how accessible you want it.

Then there are my towels, blankets, and grooming supplies. I bought this cabinet and life became so much easier! It has adjustable shelves, is metal so it can be wiped off quickly and thoroughly, and the fact that you can easily get the dog hair from underneath it with your vacuum is a major plus in my mind!

For organizing my leashes I’m a little less conventional. Years ago I saw someone use a behind the door shoe organizer for small things like leashes, gloves, poo bags, and all the small dog essentials and honestly it’s brilliant! Each item has its spot, cleaners fit nicely in the holes, and it’s easy to see everything and grab what you need.

Then on a more traditional note there is food storage! It is super important that dog food not be stored in its original bag because once air is allowed in it can begin to mold. It’s best to use a product designed for this, not only for mold but so animals can’t smell the food and enter your home uninvited. I prefer mine on wheels for easy movement to clean behind them and the locking lid keeps the dogs out of them (most of the time).

These are the four that make my “must have” list for organizing myself and the dogs so we live in harmony! Hope they help!
